Instructions
for
Repairing Wood
Typical Repair
may be in wooden floorboards, wall panels,
ceiling panels, etc.
|
| 1.
Use sandpaper or sander to remove all loose materials
adherence around the hole.
|
 |
2.
Cut the tie strip off the patch using a knife or scissors.
(N.B. for a smaller hole, cut the patch down to size
using a pair of scissors or retractable knife, so it
fits in the hole)
Place the tie strip through the centre of the patch
and lock in the brace. The vothole is now ready to be
inserted into hole.
|
 |
3.
Fold the patch and insert it into the hole. The patch
springs back to shape covering the inside of the hole.
Hold onto the locking brace and pull on the tie strip
securing the patch into place on the inside of the repair
surface. The patch is securely in place. |
 |
4.
Apply the filler. Mix up and apply filler with a spatula.
Apply the filler evenly over all of the repair surface.
|
 |
5.
Once the first application of filler is dry, cut the tie
strip below the repair surface (or inside just inside
the hole) and the brace falls off. |
 |
| 6.
Apply a second application of filler, making sure there
is overfill of filler. |
 |
| 7.
Once the final application of filler is dry, sand back
the filler with sandpaper. It is even easier and quicker
with an electric sanding machine. The hole is now repaired,
with the vothole leaving a flush finish every time. The
hole is now filled and can be nailed, screwed or drilled
in. |
